Location Alerts — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Overview

Location Alerts rings an alarm when your device enters or leaves zones you define. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Location data

The app uses your device's location — including in the background, when the app is closed or not in use — solely to detect when you cross the borders of the alert zones you created. Location processing happens on your device: your movement history is not uploaded, sold, or shared. A rolling two-day diagnostic log of zone-crossing decisions is stored locally on your device only.

Account and cloud sync (optional)

If you sign in with Google, your alert definitions (zone names, coordinates, radii, sounds, settings) are synced to Firebase (Google Cloud) so they can be restored on your devices. This data is encrypted with a per-account key before upload. If you never sign in, nothing leaves your device. Days on which the app was used and on which alerts fired are recorded (dates only, no locations) to operate the referral program.

Advertising

The free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may process device identifiers for ad delivery and fraud prevention; where required, you will be asked for consent (Google UMP). Paid plans remove ads. See Google's advertising policy.

Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand aggregate, anonymized usage patterns — such as how many alerts are active, how alerts are configured, and time spent on each screen — so we can improve the app. This data is not tied to your name or contact details and is never sold. See Google's Analytics policy.

Referral program

If you redeem or share a referral code, the code relationship and reward status are stored in Firebase. No location data is involved.

Data retention and deletion

Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app. You can delete your account and all synced cloud data yourself, immediately, in the app: Settings → Account → "Delete account & data". See the account deletion page. If automatic deletion fails, contact the address below, describe what happened, and request manual deletion; it will be handled within 30 working days.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
